This review is from: Waterpik SM 653 CG Original 6-Mode Massage Handheld Shower, Chrome (Tools & Hardware)

Just bought a new house, needed a hand-held shower head, and wanted it to look nice. So I tried Moen (returned it), considered Delta, and visited several stores trying to find a shower head. I can't stand that all of these shower heads now just sit in their holder by the tip of the handle... that was part of the problem with the Moen - it was shaky, seemed like it would fall out at any moment. I've had the Waterpik before and liked it (in fact, had it in the house I just moved out of), so finally, after much searching and a couple of returns, I went back to old faithful. Why did I ever look anywhere else? It's not the sleekest looking shower head (others look nicer, more polished, more stylish)... BUT, it works well, and absolutely gets the job done. The spray options are perfect, the hand held piece (like others) just sits in the holder by it's tip (I was worried about this), but it fits better than most, kind of wedges in there, so it's very stable - having used it now for a while, I have no concerns about it falling out. If you want something that will just work well and give you the shower you want, look no further.

This review is from: Waterpik SM 653 CG Original 6-Mode Massage Handheld Shower, Chrome (Tools & Hardware)

For several years, we've used Delta handheld shower with Aquasana water filter Then, a few months ago, the Delta broke and it was time for a replacement. We did a thorough research on Amazon and decided to purchase this Waterpik. The design looked good and the handle was very light. Regrettably, there was too much cheap plastic all around. So why the three stars? First, the harsh smell of the new rubber shower hose. How can I enjoy a nice, peaceful shower when I am enveloped in a toxic cloud? After 4 weeks of daily use, the Waterpik hose still smells awful. I replaced the hose with a 72" stainless steel shower hose from local "BDF hardware" (got it?) store. (Item #44053, $19.95) Second, since Day One, the shower head has been leaking. I changed the water setting, but to no avail. As the water flows, you can hear the constant drip.. drip.. drip into the shower floor. This is yet another example of a cheaply made, low-quality foreign product. Waterpik decided to slash U.S. jobs and build the product in China. They got what they paid for. In the future, I will seriously reconsider when purchasing another Waterpik product.

5/30/09 Update:
Well, it's been 9 months since we purchased this Waterpik Handheld Shower. At 5 months, the showerhead got clogged. Switching to another setting didn't help: half of the (filtered) water was streaming down to the shower floor. We then replaced Waterpik showerhead with an identical model, under warranty. Now, that replacement is beginning to clog. In Ukraine we have a saying: "We are not so -rich- to buy -cheap- items!" Well, we got what we paid for.

We bought it for a new shower and it is very pretty but the flow from this shower (we're on a well) is terrible. After a month, I bought a different shower head.

Excuse the pun but, it was $200 down the drain.

This review is from: Earth Massage 1.75 GPM Chrome Water Saving Shower Head (Misc.)

I've just installed two of these Niagara showerheads: a 1.5 gpm, and a 1.75 gpm. They are great. I was introduced to this item when our city had a drive to save water and gave everybody a 2.0 gpm unit in exchange for each of our old showerheads. What a great deal! It was a white unit (still available from sites on the web). The ones I just installed were chrome plated.
I've noticed no lack of pressure when I bathe or wash my hair. They are compact, and the shower massage is even good. There is one advantage to the 1.5 gpm unit--I have a slow drain in that bath, and it does not overfill the tub. There is also one disadvantage--the low flow takes a longer time to come up to temperature. Hey! Nothing's perfect for everybody. But I do like these units, and I will certainly buy more for gifts.
The Amazon price for these units is good (could be better!) and they look and work great. I like them so much, I wish I had several more showers at home.

I've had this for four years now. But A pipeline repair that put dirt in the line and clogged the holes has forced me to replace it. I purchased another more expensive brand at a local store and the force of the spray is very weak in comparison. So I'm buying another one of these at Amazon. This baby really blasts the water - if you want it to. The massage setting is really great. I've had no problems with the swivel mount. It's been 100% trouble free. A great bargain.

It's very easy to install after I drilled four holes through the tile on the wall. It's very easy to hook up the hose.
Also, easy to use. Great price.

Arrived with a broken part (the little wheels that connect the massage wing to the main body). Talked to the company and they promised to sent the part. It arrived promptly, but it was the wrong part. We are not living in the US, so it is hard for us to send stuff back. Our plumber fixed it in another way then.
The rain and hand shower are really good, the massage function is more a tickling than a massage. If you want a real massage, look elsewhere.

The shower head is attractive, but it has a very weak flow. I believe that is because on its inside the area that funnels water has one part with a very small hole. A handy person could certainly just make the hole bigger with a drill bit, but I was too lazy to, so I just bought a different one. Not a bad shower head say, for short-term guests, but if you're going to use it every day, get out your drill.

The best showerhead I've ever experienced except the Ritz but wait...maybe that was my first encounter. They make great gifts for those you love to pamper.
